Karachi Cotton Association (KCA) statistics show that though prices continued an upward trend, rates had reached stability at around Rs2900 per maund during the last week of July.
Nevertheless, cotton prices climbed at the beginning of August and stood at about Rs2950 per maund. The last week the rates had surged to Rs3000. Prices took another leap yesterday, reaching Rs3050 per mound.
With tight supply and growing demand, prices are most likely to continue soaring and fluctuate for several weeks to come.
