India : AEPC workshop on garment engineering a hit

The Apparel Export Promotion Council, Chennai had organised a 3 days workshop cum training program on GARMENT ENGINEERING to the management and production executives of Apparel Industry at Chennai.
The event had presided over by Mr. D S Iyer, Senior Member representing Industry, Mr. K Rajasekar, Secretary of Apparel Handloom Exporters Association Chennai. Mr. T. Rajendiran, Member, LMC, ATDC had also spoken on the occasion.
While delivering presidential address, Mr. D.S. Iyer congratulated AEPC Chennai for making continuous efforts to the growth of Industry at the crucial hours of facing competition in the global marker.
Mr. Iyer had also informed the house that the AEPC, Chennai contributes its real role of promotional activities from its earlier role of administering quota restrictions.
He further informed that AEPC, Chennai had taken a lead role in setting up of an additional full fledged training centre of ATDC at Mogappair to cater the skilled manpower needs of exporters of this region.
During the Key Note address, the Chief Guest of the event, Mr. Rajasekar informed that such of type of productivity improvement programs on various topics needs to be addressed to industry having latest technical know-how in order to improve the productivity with desired quality garments.
He also streesed that the industry to adopt new methodologies that are being taught by the experts, like Mr. Roger Thomas, to reach commerical and viable profitability through production of quality garments.
