The Intimate Apparel and Swimwear Industry convened on New York City this week for Lingerie Americas New York, which ran Sunday, August 5 thru Tuesday, August 7 at the Altman Building and Metropolitan Pavilion (135 West 18th Street, between 6th & 7th Avenues). The 11th edition of the show attracted 2750 high-quality buyers, an increase of 1.5% compared to last August.
Among the highlights of the event was an appearance by famed designers Mark Badgley and James Mischka, who were on hand to check out the show for the first time as well as the expanded Badgley Mischka booth.
“We are especially pleased with the strong attendance at this edition of Lingerie Americas,” said Patrice Argain, CEO, Lingerie Americas.
“In fact, we would not have been surprised to see a slight decrease in visitors, since West Coast buyers now have the opportunity to attend our new show in Las Vegas in a few weeks. Instead, the slight increase in attendance, combined with impressive preregistration numbers for Las Vegas, truly demonstrates the importance of Lingerie Americas and underscores our leadership position in the intimate apparel and swimwear industry”.
Exhibitors Were Busy Writing Orders:
Attendees had the opportunity to see the newest collections from 273 intimate apparel and swimwear brands. From medium to high-end brands, the exhibitors this season represented Foundations, Sleepwear & Loungewear, Underwear, Daywear, Swimwear & Beachwear, Hosiery, Maternity & Nursing, Shapewear, Plus Sizes, Men's Underwear, Accessories, Slippers, etc.
