100% Design Tokyo announces the appointment of Michael Young as 100% Design Tokyo 2007 creative director.
Michael Young has been amongst the most successful and influential designers of his generation from the outset of his career. In 1992 his early Woven steel works were immediately acquired by public institutions such as Centre Pompidou and the Louvre Museum.
In 1995 he created MY- 022 Ltd design office in London. Where he focused on a series of projects for Cappellini, Sawaya & Moroni and Magis and was given his own monthly page in Japanese publication Casa Brutus.
Terence Conran selected Young in 1997 as his most inspiring British designer recorded by David Bailey for the Sunday Times Magazine.
Since creating a studio in Hong Kong the office has embarked on a range branding and design projects including City Strom bike for Giant and barware range for Schweppes. July will see the launch new polos shirts for Lacoste in Paris.
