It was a collection that women often dream of and Raakesh Agarvwal gave reality to them with his ethereally beautiful Spring/Summer 2008 line at Lakme Fashion Week.
Titled Poison Privé it was far from venomous in style or form. Created from the most luxurious fabrics - flowing soft and seductive - his inspirations were the new woman who is overtly glamorous and bold enough to show it. The fabulous chiffons and sheer fabrics created the look that Raakesh had visualized his muse to wear.
From the kaftans, and kaftan dresses to body hugging knee length shirt dresses and the beautiful drapes of the flowing gowns; the creations were worthy of a Red Carpet walk.
The detailing was impeccable with fluting, corseting, micro rouching, smocking and draping to mould the body. The sensuous chiffons almost flew around the models as they glided down the ramp. The colours were the softest of lemon, pale green and of course white.
The opening dress in white with a rouched body was a stunner and so was the palazzos worn with a halter top. The beauties were the yellow satin dress with embroidered back, the floating chiffon layered beach cover, the elasticized hipster flowing skirt, the asymmetric gowns, the ruffled edge layered mini and the pretty blouson dress.
The one shoulder bubble and shorts in acid green were fun creations and the turquoise pencil mini and the small ornate shrug will be great additions to a woman’s wardrobe.
For really beautiful occasion wear, it is Raakesh Agarvwal who has all the perfect creations for the right fashion statement.
