Nguyen Minh Triet, Vietnamese State President, while attending a meeting with Carlos M Gutierrez, US Secretary of Commerce, urged the US Government to stop investigation on country’s textile and apparel exports to that market, so as to maintain goodwill and cooperation among the two countries.
"We propose US Department of Commerce to consider and stop monitoring program of textile and apparel imports from Vietnam because you have not found any evidence of the dumping case so far" Nguyen Minh Triet said in the meeting.
However, according to Mr Gutierrez, the investigation program approved by US Congress will continue for another year, till George Bush’s term of office expires.
