Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia releases the industrial production for November 2007. The industrial production in the Republic of Serbia in November 2007, when compared to November 2006, decreased by 2.5% and in relation to the 2006 average, it increased by 9.3%. In the period January – November 2007, when compared to the same period 2006, industrial production increased by 4.0%.
Observed as divided by sections, in November 2007 compared to the same month 2006, the trends were noted as follows:
• the section of electric power, gas and water supply – growth of 0.8%
• the section of mining and quarrying – fall of 6.9%
• the section of manufacturing – fall of 3.0%
The data on industrial production by destination in November 2007, compared to November 2006, expressed growth in the production of the following goods:
• capital goods, by 7.3%
while fall was noted for
• durable consumer goods, by 9.7%
• intermediate products, energy excluded, by 7.5%
• energy, by 0.8% and
• non – durable consumer goods, by 0.1%.
The industrial production volume in November 2007, compared to November 2006, expressed the following trends:
• fall in 16 divisions that in the structure of industrial production participate with 55%
• growth in 13 divisions that in the structure of industrial production participate with 45%.
The largest influence on the industrial production fall in November 2007 compared to November 2006 had the divisions of: manufacture of basic metals, manufacture of food products, manufacture of furniture, manufacture of textile yarns and textiles and manufacture of refined petroleum products.
The seasonal adjustment of the industrial production index for November 2007, compared to the 2006 average, indicates a 0.3% growth of the overall industrial production and a 0.6% growth of manufacturing.
The seasonally adjusted industrial production index for November 2007, compared to October 2007, indicates a 1.5% fall of the overall industrial production and a 0.6% fall of manufacturing.
The production of small-size enterprises (the number of employees less than 50) that were not included in regular statistical surveys is followed on a sample of 335 selected units of the section of manufacturing. In November, 110 enterprises submitted the requested data. When the assessment of the industrial production of small-size enterprises of the sample is included, in November 2007 compared to the 2006 average, the overall industrial production increased by 10.6% (otherwise this growth equals to 9.3%) and manufacturing increased by 10.1% (otherwise this growth equals to 8.3%).
