Freudenberg Nonwovens' Spunlaid Division North America is announcing the commercial launch of a post consumer recycle (PCR) product range within its spunlaid nonwoven polyester product portfolio.
These PCR products are now available in a variety of weight and width for all market segments (automotive, building and industrial segments) and have similar product properties as all other high-quality Lutradur products.
"Over the past months, we have made substantial investments in product development and industrial trials to achieve this exciting product launch.
This PCR product range combined with our existing post industrial products (PIR content) offers great alternatives to our global customer base who are looking for "green" and sustainable products to include in their product and systems offering", said Stephan Liozu, Vice President & General Manager Spunlaid Division NA.
Freudenberg's post consumer recycle polyester nonwoven products are manufactured using PCR chips made out of recycled polyester bottles that are being collected and reclaimed everyday throughout the country.
"Every square yard of our 85 grams Lutradur PCR nonwoven fabric contains one PET bottle that is not being sent to landfill", says Liozu.
"Although we are already working with some of strategic customers on this exciting opportunity, the Lutradur PCR product range will be officially launched and exhibited at the Future of Sustainable Nonwoven Product Show in Orlando, FL on April 28th through 30th.
Product samples and technical information are now available upon request. We encourage all interested parties to contact their Spunlaid Sales and Marketing Representative."
