On 28 September 2010, Governor Zhou Xiaochuan of the People s Bank of China (PBC) and Governor Tarisa Watanagase of the Bank of Thailand (BOT) signed an agreement on the establishment of a representative office by the BOT in Beijing. This is the fifth representative office to be opened by a foreign central bank in China. It is expected that the BOT Representative Office will help strengthen central bank as well as financial sector cooperation between the two countries.
