Recently, the CNAO published the statistic result of audit work all around the country in the year 2008.
The statistic result showed that in 2008 audit institutions at varies levels conducted audit on 123,139 entities and audit investigations on 23,971 entities.
The Audits and audit investigations conducted altogether increased national revenue by 86.8 billion yuan, among which, 55.6 billion yuan was handed in the treasury, 25.7 billion was returned to original resource. 5.5 billion Financial funds and allowance was economized.
After the audits, 36.3 billion yuan of investment of fixed asset projects was canceled or decreased, 12.7 billion yuan loses of auditee entities or relevant entities were retrieved or avoided and 1,401 cases were transferred to the judiciary organs or discipline inspection organs.
The audit institutions at varies level conducted accountability audit over 34,389 persons. After audits, 112 audited leaders and 387 other relevant persons were transfer to the judiciary organs or discipline inspection organs for further punishment.
All together 115,600 audit reports and 10,133 audit investigation reports were issued by the audit institutions at varies levels, 3140 of which were published to the public. All together 144,055 audit subject reports, comprehensive reports and briefings were issued, 55% of which, namely 144,000, were instructed or adopted by leaders and relevant department. 203,109 suggestions were issued to auditees and other relevant entities and 132,269 of them were adopted, which counted to 65%. 5519 regulations and rules were established or consummated by auditees according to the audit suggestions.
