CNAO hosts the first Sino-Indian Young Auditors forum

From May 11th to 17th, 2010, the National Audit Office of P.R of China (CNAO) hosted the first Sino- Indian Young Auditors forum in Beijing, China. A total of 24 participants attended the forum, 12 from China and 10 from India.
The forum stands as one more mechanism of bilateral communication which was initiated by the heads of two SAIs, aiming to strengthen exchange and cooperation between the Sino-Indian young auditors. On May 11th, Mr. Liu Jiayi, Auditor General of the CNAO, met with Indian delegation headed by Ms. Madhavi Patchilla, the senior deputy accountant General of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India. As he said, the youth is the future of a nation. Chinese and Indian youth could strengthen exchanges and cooperation through this forum, so as to promote the development of auditing profession and deepen friendly relationship between two countries.
During two-day forum, both Chinese and Indian delegates presented their country papers and actively participated in the discussion concerning two topics of how to become a qualified government auditor and the role of SAI in promoting government accountability .
The forum also designated other meaningful activities. Young auditors from two countries planted trees together, which symbolized the ever-lasting friendship between China and India. Bowling match was also held during the forum. Besides, the delegates visited the Great Wall, Forbidden City, and Olympic Park in Beijing and World Expo in Shanghai.
Both sides agree that the forum provides a platform to share ideas and experiences on auditing and learn from each other. Such activities effectively promote the bilateral exchanges of young auditors of two SAIs, enhance mutual understanding and friendship as well.
