President of Board of Audit of Japan visited China

Upon the invitation of Dr. Liu Jiayi, Auditor General of China, Mr. Masaki Nishimura, President of Board of Audit of Japan, headed a three-member delegation to visit the National Audit Office of China(CNAO) during July 5-9, 2010. During his stay in China, Mr. Nishimura had a formal meeting with Dr. Liu Jiayi and a working session with Dr. Dong Dasheng, Deputy Auditor General of China.
During the formal meeting between two heads of SAIs on July 5, Dr. Liu Jiayi extended his warm welcome to Mr. Nishimura and expressed his sincere wishes for a strengthened cooperation between two SAIs. He was looking forward to working together with Board of Audit of Japan, ASOSAI Training Administrator, to promote the smooth progress of ASOSAI training activities. To show his sincerity, the CNAO was willing to host an ASOSAI training course in the year of 2011 so as to contribute to experience- sharing and capacity building of auditors within Asian region.

Mr. Nishimura thanked Dr. Liu for his kind invitation and expressed his appreciation for the achievements made by CNAO in auditing work. He believed that two SAIs can make even more contributions to ASOSAI training activities with the concerted efforts made by two sides.

On July 6, 2010, Dr. Dong Dasheng, Deputy Auditor General of China, held the working session with Mr. Nishimura, during which he highlighted the auditing system of China, current audit priorities of CNAO and updating of Chinese Audit Law. Mr. Nishimura was very much interested in the Chinese Audit Law updating and some unique audit practice of China like economic responsibility audit. He highly valued the audit experience of CNAO and was convinced the experience-sharing between two SAIs would be conducive to promote auditing profession in Japan.
Mr. Nishimura and his colleagues went to visit Xi an City of Shaanxi Province once after they concluded the visit in Beijing.
