Auditor General of Cambodia visits the CNAO

On April 12^th, Mr. Liu Jiayi, Auditor General of the National Audit Office of China,and Mr. Dong Dasheng, Deputy Auditor General of the CNAO, met with visiting Mr. Chhorn Uth, the Auditor General of National Audit Authority of Cambodia and his delegation. Both sides have exchanged the views about enhancing cooperation with each other and IT audit.

Mr. Liu Jiayi firstly extended a warmly welcome to Mr.Chhorn Uth, and introduced the overview of the CNAO. He said, both China and Cambodia are developing countries, there is a profound friendship between the people, both SAIs have had frequent exchanges and close cooperation, the two institutions also have similar research projects in many fields, such as how to deepen audit supervision, how to promote healthy development of national economic society and construction of democracy legal system and combating corruption, etc.

Mr. Liu Jiayi remarked that it would promote auditing capability and standard by mutual exchanges and learning auditing experience and method from the other. At present, computer technology has been largely applied in audit, which has been making more and more important effect in engineering audit, resource and environment audit and so on. How to improve the auditor s comprehensive skills would be an extreme issue for auditing institutions, so it is necessary to further strengthen the exchanges and cooperation between two auditing institutions in such field.

Mr. Chhorn Uth expressed his appreciation to the meeting with Mr.Liu Jiayi and supports for Cambodia SAIs provided by CNAO for years. He said, both SAIs shared auditing experiences and promoted auditing skills through exchanges and cooperation with the other in recent years, which made a striking achievement. At present, the performance audit in Cambodia is just on the starting step, specialists demand is urgent, he hoped that it could provide more help for Cambodia in specialist training through mutual exchanges.
