Mr. Liu Jiayi, Auditor-General of China, met with Mr. Osama Jafar Faqeeh, President of the General Auditing Bureau of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in Beijing on 28th September 2010, during which Mr. Liu and Mr. Faqeeh had friendly discussions on topics of common concern. Mr. Dong Dasheng, Deputy Auditor-General of China, also attended the meeting.
Mr. Liu Jiayi said that China strives to participate and make contributions to the best of its ability in various audit organizations worldwide, and work closely together with Saudi Arabia as always to promote the audit undertaking and capacity building of audit institutions in developing countries. Mr. Faqeeh said that as Mr. Liu becomes the Vice Chairman of INTOSAI Governing Board and takes over the hosting of the 2013 INCOSAI at the upcoming INCOSAI in South Africa this November, the National Audit Office of China is apparently playing a more and more significant role in international affairs. Meanwhile, the bilateral cooperation between China and Saudi Arabia has expanded rapidly.
Mr. Faqeeh is currently the Second Vice Chairman of INTOSAI Governing Board and Chair of INTOSAI Finance and Administration Committee (FAC). Besides, he has been a member of ASOSAI Governing Board for years. During his stay, Mr. Faqeeh also visited Shanghai and the World Expo.
