THE Central Government is reportedly considering the use of differential tariffs to collect property ax.
The tax would be levied on the area of a flat, according to China Business. But local governments could have the power to exempt areas or units based on local per capita living space to protect a genuine user of a property.
The measures appear to be the most drastic to date by the leadership in the attempt to curb property speculation and control rising home prices.
