Ministries to carry out property inspections

CHINA would carry out a nationwide property inspection on the implementation of the government s real estate measures, China Daily reported yesterday, quoting unidentified people from the property industry.

The large-scale inspection would focus on local government efforts to ensure land supply, construction of affordable housing, and the cleanup of idle land parcels, the China Daily newspaper reported.

Shenzhen trade with India down

THE bilateral trade volume between Shenzhen and India stood at US$3.05 billion in the first 10 months of this year, down 12.7 percent over the same period last year, according to Shenzhen Customs yesterday.

India s trade restriction on China s telecommunication equipments has taken its toll on Shenzhen s exports of mobile phones and mobile base stations to India, the customs said.

China, Russia sign oil, gas, nuke agreements

CHINA and Russia sealed a number of deals on oil, gas, coal and nuclear cooperation Tuesday, as a Chinese delegation was meeting with the Russian leadership.

A statement on the Chinese Foreign Ministry s Web site said Russia would start crude supplies to China through pipelines Jan. 1, 2011. In September, Russia and China signed a document outlining the general terms of Russia s gas supplies to China. The export contract is expected to be signed in the middle of next year and is supposed to cover 30 years. The volume of supplies is set at 30 billion cubic meters.

The Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and the Ministry of Land and Resources would carry out the inspections, it said, without giving a timeframe.

UnionPay expands services in Switzerland

CHINA UnionPay (CUP) and SIX Multipay, the biggest Swiss card-payment company declared early this week a joint program that enables Swiss merchants to accept payments from credit cards or debt cards issued by CUP.

The program, which includes payment system upgrading and promotion of CUP cards acceptance among Swiss merchants, was jointly launched by both companies in the Swiss Alpine city Interlaken.
