FACEBOOK Inc. s opening of an office in Hong Kong on Tuesday is placing the social-networking service provider within reach of online advertisers in the world s biggest Internet market.
Chinese companies seeking to sell their products overseas could potentially buy advertising from Facebook, Jayne Leung, who heads the Palo Alto, California-based company s sales operations in Hong Kong, said Tuesday. Facebook currently had no customers from the Chinese mainland in its direct sales division.
Gold output
CHINA S gold output hit a record 340.88 tons in 2010, up 8.57 percent from the previous year, the Xinhua news agency said Feb 6, citing data from the China Gold Association.
The figure confirmed an earlier forecast by the Ministry of Industry and Information that China was on course to produce more than 340 tons of gold in 2010.
Radio, TV networks
CHINA would expand radio and television networks coverage in rural areas in the 2011-2015 period, according to the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT).
In the five-year period, efforts would focus on ensuring access to radio and TV services in those villages with less than 20 households, the SARFT said in a statement. It said China s other villages which had more than 20 households were already covered by the radio and TV networks.
