Credit growth
CHINESE money and credit growth are moving in line with policy aims, and prudent policy is still needed to keep a lid on inflation, the People s Bank of China said yesterday.
The central bank also said the foundation of the global economic recovery was not solid. It repeated its long-standing pledge to improve the yuan s exchange rate mechanism, code for allowing market forces to play a slightly bigger role in setting the yuan s value.
Shale gas
CHINA is drawing up a national shale gas development plan and aims for commercial production of the alternative fuel as early as possible as it gears up to boost cleaner energy consumption and reduce reliance on carbon-intensive coal.
Direct route
AIR China, one of China s major airlines, officially launched a direct route from Beijing to Germany s Dusseldorf on Sunday.
The flight CA963 landed at the Dusseldorf International Airportat about 7p.m. local time. The current schedule of the flight service is every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday. A Thursday service will be added from June.
