Workers pick tea buds Friday at a plantation in Xihu District, Hangzhou City, kicking off the first crop of Longjing tea, one of China s best known green teas. The price of fresh new Longjing tea this spring is expected to increase 20 percent over last year due to rising production costs, according to Xinhua News Agency. Experts said the fresh new Longjing tea sold in the market before this week was from last year s stock or varieties also produced in Zhejiang Province, which some dealers claimed to be Longjing.
