TEMPERATURES in 13 air-conditioned public buildings in the city were well below national standards, the housing and construction bureau said.
The 13 buildings were mainly hotels, shopping complexes and commercial buildings. Their indoor temperatures all fell below the national standard of no lower than 26 degrees. The temperature at Diwang Mansion in Luohu was found to be 23.9 degrees and in Shenhua Commercial Building in Luohu, 23 degrees.
The buildings management departments were warned by the bureau to adjust their air conditioning to appropriate levels.
According to national regulations on public buildings, indoor temperatures in these buildings should not be lower than 26 degrees in the summer and should be no higher than 20 degrees in winter.
A total of 477 public buildings had been checked by the bureau since mid-August and 97 percent met the standards, including all 122 government buildings inspected, the bureau said.
