THE largest international professional job fair in China will be held at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center on Oct. 29 and 30. More than 500 overseas graduates and students from 30 domestic universities will join the fair.
The Conference on the International Exchange of Professionals (CIEP) is expected to attract the largest number of overseas students yet seen at a Chinese job fair.
Attending the 4th CIEP will be the largest number of international and domestic enterprises seen in recent years, Wang Min, head of the city's human resources and social security administration, told a meeting yesterday.
A total of 52,500 square meters have been set aside for the job fair at the exhibition center. The fair will incorporate the overseas students exchange fair, promotional fairs offered by different provinces and cities, and a medium- to high-level professionals' job fair and forums.
Several big names from the international academic community have been invited to the forums, including Nitin Nohria, dean of Harvard Business School in the United States; Ji Baocheng, president of the Renmin University of China in Beijing; and Zhang Bigong, president of Shenzhen University.
A large number of Chinese cities, including Chongqing, Dalian and Suzhou, will be sending more recruiters to the fair than in previous years.
Additionally, 78 Taiwanese companies will participate in the CIEP, up from just 38 last year. Hong Kong Pavilion, the Hong Kong section of the fair, had been booked out by recruiters in one morning, Wang said.
