MORE than 50,000 medium- to high-level job vacancies are being offered at the largest yet international professional job fair in China at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center in Futian District.
More than 2,000 organizations from 50 countries are offering the vacancies at the Conference on the International Exchange of Professionals (CIEP) on Friday and Saturday. More than 600 overseas graduates and thousands of students from 30 domestic universities will join the fair.
The annual event is hosted by the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs (SAFEA), the city government and the human resources and social security administration.
This year s CIEP has invited several big names from the international academic community to its forums, including Nitin Nohria, dean of Harvard Business School in the United States; Ji Baocheng, president of Renmin University of China in Beijing; and Zhang Bigong, president of Shenzhen University.
Pingshan New Zone, established in June last year bordering Huizhou City, is trying to attract international talents to help reshape the new zone. Preferential policies have been set up for overseas professionals. Those who set up a company in its overseas students innovative industrial park [***prop noun?***Dv] will receive 150,000 to 450,000 yuan (US$22,063-66,190) in grants.
This is the 9th CIEP since the state-level event was first held in 2001. It has been held in Shenzhen since 2007. In those three years, the fair has attracted more than 6,000 overseas professionals and 1,500 professional associations, training centers, research centers and headhunting agencies. The fair attracts more than 700,000 visitors each year.
