SMALL private businesses in residential communities will no longer require a business license, according to the city s market supervision bureau.
Self-employed businesspeople need only to register with the community management office to run small businesses such as groceries, home appliances and bicycle repairs, key cutting, manicure, printing and photography, the Southern Metropolis Daily reported Thursday.
The community management office will designate locations for small businesses within residential communities.
Registered unlicensed businesses servicing residents would not be considered illegal, the bureau said.
The bureau had not yet released details of the new regulations, the paper said.
The regulations were among measures taken by the government to boost the local economy.
