A SENIOR official with the financial development service office under the city government is being investigated for alleged corruption offences, according to the municipal disciplinary committee of the CPC.
Li Lin, director of the financial development service office, was suspected of abusing his power and taking bribes, the disciplinary committee said, without elaborating on when the investigation began and other details.
According to two people familiar with the matter, Li was invited by a local bank to attend a golfing event at Mission Hills in Guanlan, Bao an District, on Nov. 6, but did not show up.
Li was director of the Luohu District Investment Management Co. and assistant general manager from February 1993 to September 1995. He was also general manager of a Sino-American joint venture during the same period.
Born in Jiayu County, Hubei Province, Li, 54, graduated from Hubei University in 1983. He obtained a master s degree in international finance at Hubei University in 1996.
Li has been the chief of the Luohu District Finance Bureau and executive deputy chief of Luohu District before he was appointed director of the financial development service office in May 2006. (SD News)
