Car pileup

A TRUCK lost control and collided with nine vehicles including a bus on Buji Road in Longgang District yesterday. Hundreds of tons of diesel oil from the truck spilled onto the road following the crash. No one was injured in the accident which caused tailbacks two kilometers long, a witness told the Shenzhen Daily yesterday.

Driver detained

A WOMAN driver was detained for 15 days for driving without a driver s license and injuring a police office on duty. The woman, identified only as Xie, 24, a native of Hunan Province, lost control of her car when she was turning right onto Nigang Road at Honghu Flyover in Luohu District on Sunday evening. Her car struck and slightly injured a police officer who was handling an accident at the road side, police said.

Death between cars

A MAN was killed Sunday when a truck rolled backward down a slope, crushing him.

The deceased, identified as Wu, 30, a native of Anhui Province, was unaware of the danger when the truck, parked in front of his vehicle in front of a warehouse, began rolling down the slope in Qingshuihe, Luohu District. Wu died at the scene, witnesses told the Shenzhen Daily.

Wu s family is negotiating with the parking lot management.

Back pay inspection

THE city labor authority yesterday launched a two-month inspection of unpaid back wages. The inspection, which will run until the end of the year, is mainly targeting companies and factories in the construction, manufacturing, processing, catering and entertainment industries.
