THREE women were detained for offering pornographic chats with men on the Internet, yesterday s Shenzhen Economic Daily reported.

An officer from Tangwei Police Station in Bao an District said the three women, identified as Huang, Zhu and Dong, said they had worked for two months and were paid according to the duration of the chat, their clothing and their performance.

Police are hunting for members of the gang that organized the service.

In a routine check on apartments in the Tangwei community, police found a woman chatting in front of a computer while dressed in revealing clothes. Neighbors said the three women lived in the apartment and never went out except to buy food, the newspaper said.

When police broke into the room, they found the women chatting in revealing clothes in front of 10 computers, each of which was found to contain more than 100 pornographic videos.

The women, aged between 21 and 23, said they were introduced to the business by a man, identified as Ah Qiu, whom they met on the Internet about two months ago. They also taped some sex performances beforehand to seduce men they chatted with.

Aside from food and rent, we could make at least 1,500 yuan a month, which was much better than working in factories, Zhu said.
