Shenzhen police will stage their fifth open day at the police training school on Qiaocheng Road East in Futian District on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The open day will showcase the work of specialists such as hostage negotiators and and rescue teams, Shenzhen police said Thursday.
Two performances including a motorcade lasting one hour will be staged at 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
To encourage residents to participate, police for the first time will open subvenues of the open day in each district. Lianhua Police Station in Futian, Dongmen Police Station in Luohu, Nantou Police Station in Nanshan, Haishan Police Station in Yantian, Baomin Police Station in Bao'an, Longgang, Guangming and Pingshan public security bureaus will open to the public.
Traffic police will set up booths and displays at the square in front of the Children's Palace in Futian District.
To enhance public awareness of fire safety, the fire department will hold a fire extinguishing competition, put on a mock escape from a fire and invite residents to try out a fire chute at the city's firefighting brigade compound in Futian District.
Parking at the main venue will be limited but visitors will be allowed to park their cars temporarily along Qiaocheng Road East and at the sides of Qiaoxiang Road.
Jinxiu Street, Pengcheng Road 4 and the section between Hongli Road and Fuzhong Road will be closed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Police recommended visitors take buses 108, 323, 328, 390, 45, 46, 48, 49 and B697 and get off at the "police school," or take Metro Line 1 to Qiaochengdong Station, take exit C to get to the school.
No dogs are allowed.
Shenzhen police began holding open days in 2002.
