ZHANG BEI, 41, former chief of Longgang District, will be appointed head of Bao an District, replacing Li Wenlong who resigned for health reasons.
At a meeting Tuesday in Bao an District, Zhang was officially appointed as the deputy chief of the Bao an District Party committee and member of the standing committee of the district s Party committee.
Zhang, born in 1969 and a graduate of the Beijing-based Qinghua University, was the youngest district chief when he started his service in Longgang District in 2007.
Zhang was praised for being young, energetic and clear-minded by his colleagues during his three years in Longgang District.
Zhang worked at the State Council before he was transferred to Shenzhen in 2006 as deputy secretary general of Shenzhen Party committee. During his tenure as Longgang chief, the district went through a crucial period for preparing for the Universiade, with a large number of public projects under way.
Jiang Jianjun, chief of Shenzhen Municipal Public Works Bureau, will be appointed as government chief of Longgang replacing Zhang, according to the official Web site of the Organization Department of the Shenzhen Municipal Committee of the CPC. (Han Ximin)
