THREE workers were killed and another seriously injured in a fire in an LED factory in Bao an District yesterday afternoon.
The fire broke out in Deze Energy and Technology Co. on Fuhai Boulevard in Fuyong Subdistrict at about 2 p.m. The fire quickly spread to the company warehouse where a number of bottles of paint thinner were stored.
According to one of the workers who was not injured, the fire was probably caused by a short circuit which was followed by an explosion. They didn t know what happened because it happened so fast, said the worker who refused to be named. The fire was put out in 20 minutes.
He said he and his co-workers often worked over time and many workers complained of exhaustion.
The bodies of two workers were found at the assembly line while the third in the warehouse. The injured suffered multiple burns. He was taken to hospital.
Police are investigating.
