JIANG JIANJUN, former chief of the Shenzhen Municipal Public Works Bureau, was appointed deputy secretary of the Longgang District Committee of the CPC, a meeting was told Monday.
He is also a candidate for Longgang District Government chief, which needs the approval of the Standing Committee of the Longgang District People s Congress. The former Longgang chief Zhang Bei has been appointed head of Bao an District, replacing Li Wenlong who has resigned for health problems.
Born in 1964, Jiang, 46, was chief of the public works bureau for six years. The bureau is responsible for all government-funded projects except water resources and roads. The major projects included the construction of the convention and exhibition center, university town and the Universiade center.
He was the first chief of the bureau since it was established in 2004. Jiang, who holds a master s degree, was praised by his colleagues as a scholarly type.
