SZSE anniversary
SHENZHEN Stock Exchange (SZSE) celebrated its 20th anniversary Wednesday. Over the past two decades, SZSE had experienced fast growth in the number of listed companies, total market value and finance volume. A total of 148 Shenzhen enterprises had listed on the Shenzhen and Shanghai stock exchanges.
Investment surges
THE city approved 1,489 foreign investment projects in the first 10 months of the year, an increase of 24 percent over the same period in 2009. Foreign investment in the first 10 months reached US$3.8 billion, an increase of 2.41 percent compared with the same period in 2009.
Fire campaign
THE housing and construction bureau launched a citywide inspection to prevent fire hazards at construction sites, a meeting was told Thursday. The decision was made following a fatal building fire in Shanghai on Nov. 15 that killed 58 residents.
