Metro service
SHENZHEN Metro Co. Ltd. will suspend service at Shenzhen University, Hi-tech Park and Baishizhou stations on Line 1 from 8:50 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
The suspension was to allow cables on the existing Metro line to be connected to the extension line from Shenzhen University Station to Xixiang Station, which would open at the end of the month, Shenzhen Metro said Wednesday.
The Line 1 schedule would remain unchanged.
Car injures 8
A DRUNK driver left eight people injured, including three in serious conditions, after his car rammed into a barbecue stand knocking over four tables near the Fenghuang Shopping Plaza in Fuyong, Bao an District, at midnight Tuesday.
The driver was detained by police. One of the injured suffered brain damage and two others had multiple fractures, Fuyong People s Hospital said.
Scaffolding collapse
TWO people were slightly injured when scaffolding collapsed at a construction site in Bao an District on Wednesday. A truck and a car were damaged by falling steel bars.
The project contractor suspected the collapse happened after thieves stole pieces of scaffolding causing it to become unstable.
Boy killed
A 3-YEAR-OLD boy was knocked down and killed by a cross-country vehicle Tuesday evening in Xixiang, Bao an District. The driver who fled the scene of the accident was caught by police Wednesday.
The vehicle was making a turn outside the entrance of an industrial park when the boy was knocked down and run over.
