A WOMAN who had six stitches inserted in her head at Luohu People s Hospital on Tuesday claimed she had fallen on the train track after being pulled off a train by conductors at Shenzhen Railway Station.
Shi Lili, 50, a native of Jiangxi Province, and her friend, identified only as Zhang, planned to take a train back to Nanchang, capital of Jiangxi Province, on Monday.
They had no time to buy tickets when they arrived at Shenzhen Railway Station in Luohu District after being held up in traffic.
They checked in with platform tickets and were going to buy tickets after they boarded train.
But they were prevented from boarding Carriage 8, a sleeper carriage, with conductors saying there were no sleepers available.
Because the train was leaving soon, I tried to board and was half way up the steps of the train when I was pulled back by the chief conductor and two others. I fell between the carriages and hit my head on the track, Shi said Tuesday.
What Shi claimed made her even angrier was that the conductors did not help her and the railway station had not apologized.
But Shenzhen Railway Station said Tuesday Shi had accidentally fallen off the platform when she was trying to force her way on board.
The station said Shi would not listen to the conductors after she and Zhang arrived at the station at 2:18 p.m., 11 minutes before departure.
Four minutes later, she tried to force her way on to the train and accidentally fell off the platform but was quickly rescued by a railway police officer. Station employees had called an ambulance to take her to hospital.
Li Jianguo, a lawyer with Guangdong Guanghe Law Firm, said Shenzhen Railway Station should be responsible whether Shi was pushed or fell accidentally.
