TWO people were killed and three others were injured in a truck-car collision on Nanping Expressway early yesterday.
The accident happened at the Buji Exit of the expressway. Two people were thrown out of the car and died instantly. Three others were seriously injured, a witness surnamed Zhu told the Shenzhen Daily. The truck driver had fled.
A witness riding a bicycle through an underpass said the two vehicles were traveling in the same direction when he heard a big bang and the truck drove away. Zhu thought the bang might have been the sound of a tire blowout. But when he approached he saw two people lying dead on the road. Another witness said he saw the truck collide with the car, which lost control and hit a roadside fence.
Two of the injured underwent surgery at Longhua Hospital.
Shenzhen police confirmed yesterday the two killed were driver Zhao and a passenger surnamed Zhuang. Investigations continued.
