China: Sale prices of shoes raised in autumn

The new arrived shoes for autumn in current Chinese markets saw about 10% rising, for a pair of branded lady’s shoes rose to 700 yuan from previous prices of 600 yuan, according to recent survey to the department stores in largest China cities.

Even the discounted lady’s sandals because of season change sell at prices of more than 200 yuan. During the survey some shoemakers in Chengdu city explained that leather prices has gone up by 10-15%, coupled with 10% growth of labor cost, these are the reasons blamed for price rising of shoes in the markets.

Chief Executive Officer of Belle International said we have increased our sale prices in the first half of this year, moderate growth on sale price may continue if the CPI growth higher in the second half.

While facing higher prices of shoes some buyers decided to wait and see, others look for some low price of shoes sold at retail stores or online stores.
