The export value of textiles and garments in China grew 28.3% year on year but fell 3.1% month on month to US$20.14 billion in August, according to the latest statistics from China's General Administration of Customs.
The export value of textile products was US$6.68 billion last month, up 29.5% year on year but down 7.1% month on month.
The value of garment exports was US$13.46 billion, up 27.8% year on year but down 26.2% from July.
In the first eight months of this year, the country's exports of textiles and garments increased 23.7% year on year to US$129.8 billion in total. The exports of textile products grew 32.3% year on year to US$49.51 billion during the period, while export of garments rose 19% to US$80.29 billion.
Industry analysts said that the country's textile and garment exports will continue to slow down in the fourth quarter due to the appreciation of the Chinese currency.
