Glenmuir has lifted the prestigious ‘Best Apparel Supplier 2009’ award from Foremost - the largest golf business group in the world.
It's the first time that the leading Scottish-based clothing brand has been given the accolade, which is voted for by more than 1,000 PGA professionals within the Foremost Group.
Colin Mee, Glenmuir managing director, said: "We're absolutely delighted. Our team has worked closely with Foremost to support their members in a very challenging global economic climate and it is fantastic that this has been recognised by the Pros themselves.
"It's a terrific pat on the back for the whole Glenmuir team. Giving Pros and their customers access to high-quality clothing at sensible prices - backed up by excellent customer support - is fundamental to our business and this has clearly struck a chord with the Foremost members.
"We'd like to thank all those Pro's who voted for us - this means a lot."
When voting for the award, golf professionals take into account quality of product, customer service, sales team support, margin return and also the marketing support provided through Foremost's digital marketing programme.
Andy Martin, Director of Foremost Supplier Services, said: "Glenmuir is a worthy recipient of the Best Apparel Supplier of 2009 - it has been proactive in their support of our membership and has raised the bar in levels of service. "The Glenmuir team has actively contributed to sales campaigns through the group that have helped drive profits in member professional shops and that has clearly been appreciated."
Glenmuir has been a Foremost supplier since the group was set up in 1984 and is a long-standing supporter of Foremost's Elite Marketing Programme (EMP).
Glenmuir sales director, Graham Hayward, received the award from Foremost MD, Paul Hedges, during the GTEC Show at Harrogate.
Glenmuir is one of Europe's leading golf apparel brands and for 2010 has introduced more than 130 individual product lines in a massive array of colours, designs and exciting new fabric technologies.
The company has chosen three fresh and contemporary colour palettes for Spring/Summer 2010: ‘Blue Stone’ combines deep, rich blues with white and subtle stone; ‘Lilac Haze’ contrasts vibrant raspberry and lilac with strong black, white and stone colours; ‘Paradise Mist’ features cool grey and pale blue tones with white.
One of the highlights for next year includes the innovative Performance Curve polo using ThermoCool which consists of a unique blend of hollow and solid fibres that interact with the golfer.
