India is providing an assistance of Rs. 20.4 million to Nepal to establish a Silk Research Centre in Kathmandu, according to Rakesh Sood, Indian Ambassador to Nepal.
The centre, which will be a 2-storey building, will offer a four years diploma course in Textile and Sericulture started by a non-profit NGO Nepal Srijanatmak Kala Guthi in year 2007 and recognized by the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT).
