Fast Retailing Co., operator of the popular Uniqlo casual clothing retail chain, has been awarded this year's best corporate communications prize by the public relations arm of the Japan Business Federation (Nippon Keidanren).
Fast Retailing received the annual prize for public relations efforts by its top management as well as rank-and-file employees, and for its effective dissemination of information to the public not only through the mass media but other channels, including its own outlets worldwide and its Web site, the Keizai Koho Center said Monday.
Takeo Higuchi, chairman and CEO of Daiwa House Industry Co., and Takeo Fukui, adviser and former president of Honda Motor Co., were each awarded a prize for top executives who effectively promoted communications with the public and their employees, according to the center.
