GrafTech, one of the world's biggest makers of graphite electrodes used in steel production, said it still expects the Justice Department to clear the deals and that they will close in 2010.
Seadrift Coke is one of the main producers of a critical material used in the manufacture of graphite electrodes. C/G Electrodes is another manufacturer of graphite electrodes.
GrafTech shares were unchanged in extended trading, following the announcement. They had risen 12 cents, or 0.8 percent, to close the regular trading session at $15.27.
