Following the success of the 2009 fair, Intertextile Shanghai Home Textile will take place from 24 26 August 2010 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre in China.
Last year, more than 36,800 trade buyers from 99 countries and regions came to source home textile products from 908 international exhibitors in 103,500sqm trade space. The 2010 edition will feature the next season s hottest home textile items including bedding, towelling, curtains and upholstery. Most importantly, the fair is a proven business platform in Asia for suppliers to meet key buyers from China and abroad including architects, designers, hotels, furniture manufacturers, importers, exporters, wholesalers and retailers.
China remains the ever-growing home textile market
According to the Chinese National Bureau of Statistic, 500 million sqm of residential blocks are being completed annually, plus China s urban population will reach 830 to 870 million by 2025. The rapid urbanisation in this country translates to rich business opportunities for the home textile industry.
In addition, China s GDP reached RMB 21.78 trillion in the first three quarters of 2009, up 7.1% compared to the same period in 2008. This positive sign is a good indicator that people will have more money to spend on home textiles.
Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles the ideal trading platform in Asia
With its location in Shanghai, Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles is the perfect destination for the home textile suppliers to reach out to this potential market. The show organiser will continue to group exhibitors by clearly defined product categories so that buyers can source with ease. The Brand Bedding and Towelling hall will once again be an important feature of the fair.
In addition to being a premium trading platform, the fair will hold a comprehensive fringe programme providing industry players the latest market intelligence and trends. Leading trendsetters from the world of home textiles will present the next home textile design and trend through seminars and special display zones.
VIP buyers programme helps industry players get the right connection
To ensure the suppliers are getting the right business connections, the 2010 fair will continue to invite VIP buyers from major retailers and industry associations to attend. Last year, over 180 meetings took place between exhibitors and VIP buyers including Marks & Spencer, Calvin Klein Home, Lord of the Isles Holding Ltd, Morphrow, delegates from Korea, the Middle East plus senior representatives from China s top tier department stores.
Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles 2010 is organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd., the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT and China Home Textile Association (CHTA).
