Haining Warp Knitting Science & Technology Industrial Zone is in the south side of Yangtze River Delta, and in the north of Zhejiang. It is 125 kilometers west of Shanghai, and 61.5 kilometers east of Hangzhou. Haining Warp Knitting Science & Technology Industrial Zone is famous for its warp knitting industry and raw materials, weaving, dyeing and finishing, and garment production. Aggregate economic activity of warp knitting industry in the Haining Warp Knitting Science & Technology Industrial Zone is accounting for over 70% of Haining s total, and 20% of the national total. It owns 200 biaxial warp knitting machines, accounting for over 90% of the national total.
In 2008, the overall output value of Haining Warp Knitting Science & Technology Industrial Zone reached 21.5billion yuan, profit and tax 1 billion yuan. Haining Warp Knitting Science & Technology Industrial Zone pays appropriate attention to the intensive and competitive development of the warp knitting industry.
By 2010, the zone aims to achieve overall output value 32 billion yuan (up 15% y/y); sales value 29.5 billion yuan (up 12%, y/y); statistics-worthy textile enterprises 550; and export value $1.1 billion.
