According to Meat and Livestock Australia, The 163kg shipment of T-bone steaks and ribs was inspected over the weekend by the Bureau of Standards, Meteorology and Inspection, the Bureaus of Animal and Plant Health Inspection, and Quarantine and Customs. Following the inspections, the beef was certified and cleared to enter the market.
This first shipment will be distributed to five high-end hotels for free, and is expected to be distributed to 15 guests and sampled by the respective managers and chefs C the US Meat Export Federation hopes the beef will meet customer demands.
A second shipment of around 400kg of US bone-in beef is expected to arrive in Taiwan over the coming weekend.
