Vice Minister Niu Dun Meets with South Africa's Minister of Rural Development and Land Reform

April 19-Vice Minister Niu Dun met the visiting South Africa s Minister of Rural Development and Land Reform, Mr. Gugile Ernest Nkwinti, to exchange information and experience in rural development and land contracting.

Vice Minister Niu gave high comments on the cooperation in agriculture between China and South Africa. He also introduced China s experience of the contracting system of rural land. In addition, both sides conducted discussions on the transfer of land-use rights and the arbitration of land disputes. Vice Minister Niu suggested that the two sides could enhance the exchange of policy, information and personnel in the future.

Minister Nkwinti expressed his gratitude to the introduction by the Chinese side, stating the willingness to strengthen bilateral cooperation and exchange in rural development and land reform.

Leading officials from MOA Department of International Cooperation and Department of Rural Economy and Management Administration, as well as the Minister from the Embassy of South Africa to China were also present at the meeting.
