On April 24, Chinese Veterinary Association held a celebration activity at China Agriculture University, which was the first time Chinese veterinarians celebrated their holiday. The theme of this year s World Veterinary Day is: One World, One Health: more cooperation between veterinarians and physicians.
The last Saturday in each April is designated by World Veterinary Association as the holiday for all veterinarians. Yu Kangzhen, Chief Veterinarian in MOA attended and addressed the activity. He said that veterinary was a respectable profession, which played an ever more important role in safeguarding national public health as well as prevention and control of animal diseases. More cooperation between veterinarians and physicians was a necessary measure to protect human health.
Animal diseases prevention and control centers nationwide and Chinese Veterinary Association attended this activity, organizing a series of activities, such as printing campaign posters, delivering souvenirs, opening blogs, and providing vaccines for pets free of charge. About one hundred people from Veterinary Bureau of MOA, China Agriculture University, Beijing Agriculture Bureau, and China Veterinary Association attended the celebration activity.
