The government will expand the cultivation of super rice by at least 100 million acres, according to information from China's Ministry of Agriculture.
The ongoing science and technology services conference in Jiang Xi province resolved that all agricultural sectors should further implement measures to promote the super rice in order to actually improve the capacity of paddy rice. The goal is to achieve 50 kilograms growth and cost savings of 100 yuan per acre.
It is reported that the super rice has 30 percent yield-increasing potential, over 50 kilograms growth per acre, compared to common rice. According to related statistics, in the first three years before the implementation of "11th Five-Year Plan," super rice has solved the food problem for 160 million people with a cumulative increased output of 16.2 billion kilograms in China.
