13 Xiamen companies signed more than $ 50 million worth of procurement contracts with 27 Taiwan small-and-medium enterprises at the cross-Strait farm produce trade fair in Yunlin County, Taiwan on Saturday, the Taihainet.com reports.
The fair was held during Fujian governor Huang Xiaojing s 6-day visit to Taiwan. He is heading an economic, trade and cultural exchange delegation to the island.
7 companies from the Dadeng Small Commodities Trading Market and 6 companies from the Sales & Distribution Centre for Taiwan Fruits attended the fair. The procurement contract of over 5,000 tons of Taiwan fruit were signed during the fair, roughly the total imports of Taiwan fruit in 2009.
The purchased Taiwan products include Taiwan fruit, other food and seasoning. The products will be transported to Xiamen within this year. And two third of the purchased Taiwan fruit will be distributed across China via Xiamen.
