Since last May, provinces in southern China have suffered from several rounds of heavy rain, with the precipitation much more than the same period in normal years and an impact on agricultural production.
The Ministry of Agriculture has instructed agricultural authorities at local levels to combat disasters and strive for a good harvest, with the priority being the response to heavy rain, implementing disaster-relief measures, and minimizing the impact of disasters.
1. Improving monitoring and early warning of agricultural disasters;
2. Implementing agricultural disaster-relief;
3. Prevention and control of diseases and carrying out the work that dead animals are dealt with without harm;
4. Scaling up organization and guidance of agricultural disaster-relief.
