In front of more than 500 leaders of the productive and social sectors in the region, Mayorga Castaeda underlined the commitment of the present administration to make the accounts clear in each of the five axis that support the work in favour of the Mexican families.
He underlined that the resources of the rural sector rose four times in 2000, when approving a budget for the program "Programa Especial de Concurrente" of 294,000m pesos, when before was of just 74,000.
He anticipated that Mexican agricultural exports exceeded 17,000m dollars. This amount is superior to the income generated by other economical activities in the country, he added.
In front of APEAM's president, Ricardo Vega and the secretary of Rural Development of the State, Maraa Carmen Trejo, the representative of SAGARPA recognized avocado producers efforts to conquer US, Canada and Japan markets, where they had already seen success.
Producer's representative, Ricardo Vega, mentioned that avocado's productive chain "will never forget that the rebirth of this cultivation is the product of the team work between producers, packagers, municipalities, state governments and the federal government, regarding the health plan and the adequate commercial promotion on an international level".
Data from APEAM reveals that more than 70 thousand families depend on this activity, the same families that benefit of a tax assessment of 800 million dollars that generates the fruit's export to markets like United States, Canada or Japan.
