Checkpoint bus lane

SHENZHEN traffic police will designate a bus lane between the Caopu Flyover to Buji Checkpoint in an attempt to relieve traffic congestion in downtown Shenzhen during rush hours, police said yesterday.

The bus lane will be separated by a mobile fence. Police would step up patrols, monitoring with cameras to improve traffic control in the area, which was often criticized for the poor traffic situation where commuters had often been forced to get off buses in traffic jams and walk to work.

Police mini Web

SHENZHEN police opened a mini Web site http://t.qq.com/szga110 Friday to provide online service, receive reports and complaints.

The mini Web is another channel for police to serve residents following the opening of micro blogs at sina.com and tencent.com last year.

Motorists can check traffic offenses, exit-entry information, report crimes and inquire about travel permits to Hong Kong.
